A Side of Osaka Most Visitors Never Discover With just 3 or 4 guests per tour, we can step into hidden gems tucked away around Dotonbori, the heart of Osaka, where locals gather after work and enjoy authentic food, drinks, and nightlife. These spots rarely have English menus or English-speaking staff, but your Japanese local guide will be with you every step of the way, making the experience easy and enjoyable while you immerse yourself in Japan's unique izakaya culture (Japanese-style pubs). This is not simply a food tour. It is a genuinely distinctive way to discover a side of Osaka beyond the usual tourist experience — an authentic and memorable experience that may become one of the highlights of your time in Osaka.

1. Stop 1

   Duration: 10 min

   If you haven’t seen Hozenji Temple yet, let’s go explore together! Right in the heart of the bustling city, we’ll walk through an alleyway that feels like a step back in time. Discover Hozenji Temple, and immerse yourself in the rich history and atmosphere of this unique area.

2. Stop 2

   Duration: 10 min

   If you haven’t seen the famous Glico sign in Dotonbori yet, we’d be happy to stop by together and make sure you get some great photos to remember the night!

3. Stop 3

   Duration: 120 min

   Just step off Dotonbori's main street, and you'll find yourself in a lively area where locals gather to eat and drink. Here, we’ll stop by 2 or 3 cozy local izakayas (Japanese-style pubs) and bars and enjoy izakaya food and drinks just like the locals do! We’ll also walk through vibrant backstreets, hidden alleys, and local spots along the way. Your guide will take photos throughout the tour, so you’ll have lasting memories. ※You'll walk about 5 minutes between each izakaya (occasionally up to 10 minutes).

4. Stop 4

   Duration: 30 min

   Let’s stroll through Ura-Namba, a popular local area filled with izakayas (Japanese-style pubs) and bars that locals love. Here, we’ll stop by 1 or 2 cozy local izakayas and bars and enjoy izakaya food and drinks just like the locals do! We’ll also walk through vibrant backstreets, hidden alleys, and local spots along the way. Your guide will take photos throughout the tour, so you’ll have lasting memories. ※You'll walk about 5 minutes between each izakaya (occasionally up to 10 minutes).

5. Stop 5

   Duration: 10 min

• Please bring some cash for your additional food and drinks, as most of the local spots we visit only accept cash. Food and drinks are reasonably priced!
• We’re happy to run the tour even for a single participant. It’s also a great tour for solo travelers!
• We generally run the tour in Rainy weather, except in the case of typhoons or heavy rain warnings (We recommend bringing an umbrella)
• Vegetarian options are limited. Still, many vegetarians have had a fantastic time! You may want to eat a little beforehand
• Vegan options are very limited. Still, many vegans have had a fantastic time after having a substantial meal beforehand
• The number of places we visit may vary depending on the day, participants’ preferences, and the situation
• Please participate at your own risk regarding allergies and dietary restrictions; however, we’ll do our best to support you!
